If you go with the roof analysis, you'll answer a few quick questions about your home and power usage. We'll then build you a full solar report with panel placements, savings forecasts, and system sizing, all based on your actual roof. If you go with comparing quotes, we'll ask a couple of basics and connect you with up to 3 vetted local installers so you can compare quotes. Simple as that.

Very. We use LINZ aerial data and government energy rates to model your actual roof, not a generic estimate. The report factors in your roof angle, orientation, shading, and local sunshine hours. It's not perfect down to the dollar, but it's close enough to make a genuinely informed decision.

Every installer on our platform is EWRB registered, a SEANZ member or Master Electricians certified, has five years of solar behind them, and is independently vetted by our team. If they don't pass, they're not in the shortlist we share you with. We're pretty strict about this, because our reputation depends on theirs.

The roof analysis takes about 5 minutes. Getting your quotes takes about 2 minutes. Once you've compared quotes and chosen an installer, a typical residential installation takes 1 to 2 days. The full process from first quote to switch-on is usually 4 to 8 weeks.

If your home is heritage-listed or in a special character zone, you may need to check with your local council first. But for the vast majority of Kiwi homes, you're good to go.

Unfortunately not, at least not without your landlord's permission. Solar panels are a permanent installation, so you'll need the property owner on board. If you're a renter who's keen on solar, we'd suggest having a chat with your landlord first.
